Telehealth Informed Consent

Last Updated: April 2026

Nature of Telehealth

Telehealth involves the delivery of healthcare services using electronic communications, information technology, or other means between a healthcare provider and a patient who are not in the same physical location. This may include assessment, diagnosis, consultation, treatment, and the transfer of medical data.

Benefits and Risks

Benefits of telehealth include improved access to care, convenience, and the ability to receive medical consultations from the comfort of your home. Telehealth eliminates travel time and may reduce exposure to other illnesses.

Risks may include limitations in the provider's ability to perform a physical examination, potential technology failures, and the possibility that the provider may determine that telehealth is not appropriate for your condition and refer you for in-person care.

Patient Responsibilities

You are responsible for providing accurate and complete health information, following your provider's treatment recommendations, attending scheduled consultations, and informing your provider of any changes in your health status or medications.

Emergency Situations

Telehealth is not appropriate for emergency situations. If you are experiencing a medical emergency, please call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room immediately. DeenFuel Health telehealth services are designed for non-emergency medical consultations.

Privacy and Confidentiality

DeenFuel Health uses secure, HIPAA-compliant technology for all telehealth consultations. While we take every precaution to protect your privacy, you should ensure you are in a private location during your consultation and that your internet connection is secure.

Consent

By using DeenFuel Health's telehealth services, you acknowledge that you have read and understand this informed consent, that you voluntarily consent to receive telehealth services, and that you may withdraw your consent at any time by notifying your provider or contacting our support team.
